I had my computer on last night, then awoke this morning and it was off. I thought nothing of it, and booted it up.. no problem.. then 20 minutes later I smelled something like an electrical burning smell. I looked closer at the back of my computer and noticed the power supply fan wasn't turning. I panicked and shut everything down. I took it apart, cleaned the dust out and such, re-assembled everything and still.. no rotation of the power supply fan. So as it stands, my computer is rendered useless for the time being. I'm using my girlfriend's computer right now to check my email and stay in touch with everyone.. but my music work is now stuck on hold.
I am sending a shout-out for help to anyone that can spare $5-10 to help a local psytrance producer. I am accepting Paypal donations through: kristinaholden@verizon.net
I really need this part ASAP. So, please act promptly if you can. I was totally planning on working on a new track, and my computer is dead =( At the very least I need to get it a couple days before my show on the 26th at Watertown (SEA). So, thanks for everyone's support.
Thanks in advance,
Andy
P.S. In return for a donation, I'll email you a private link to download high quality mp3's of my newest couple tracks!

Re: Help! My Power Supply is DEAD!
Fri, April 15, 2005 - 10:07 AMDude, I may be experiencing a similar problem. My fan was making a loud buzzing noise for a good 3 weeks. I downloaded a thermometer program for the cpu, and it was at 108?F at one point, regularly at 97?F. I cleaned out a good amount of dust inside the case, which was a good idea but didn't seem to help the heat problem. Well, I got angry and rocked and bumped the tower a bit (which is very stupid, never do this!), however I guess I luckily fixed it because as of a few days ago, it's running at a cool 90?F, and even right now at 82?F. I plan on replacing the battery soon to keep the fan running at full power.
Anyway, I can relate to your woe Andy so I'm sending you $10 now. Best of wishes, and I'll see you soon...maybe before Watertown. -
